The East 1488 Community Association of Montgomery County, Texas is a 501(c)(4) not-for-profit organization that facilitates communications and involvement between its members and community officials to help maintain residents’ quality of life along the FM 1488 corridor. Unlike a Chamber of Commerce, which represents local business interests, our sole purpose is to promote the social welfare of homeowners along the greater East 1488 and Fish Creek Thoroughfare area at large. We generally achieve this through seeking political remedies to challenges that face our community. We are not affiliated with any political party, but instead we work with local, county and state public servants of all political parties to ensure they are aware of and sensitive to the needs of their constituents along the East FM 1488 corridor and surrounding area. We represent the residents and homeowners of the area, and as such our members are the HOAs and POAs (Home & Property Owner Associations) that represent their respective neighborhoods. HOAs are typically 501(c)(3) organizations, which have no political influence as their filing status prevents them from political activity. We fill that gap, acting as a liaison between a huge voting block of property owners from 30+ HOA/POAs and the politicians and public servants that are elected and appointed to represent that voting block – from our County Commissioner to our legislators in both State and Federal legislatures.
