Southwest Montgomery County Improvement District
The E1488CA has been involved in the of the development and creation of the District though public meetings and a survey.
Though the District has yet to be ratified by the voters, SMCID Board members continue to look for ways to address local issues through the District.
The E1488CA will work with the District to provide information to members about how the District can improve area quality of life and will take members’ issues and questions back to the SMCID Board to aid in the District’s plan development
Sign Committee:
The Sign Committee has virtually eliminated illegal bandit signs from the right-of-way of FM 1488. Both the City of Conroe and the City of Houston are making the removal of bandit signs a priority for the coming year. Cheryl continues to fight for the removal of other illegal signage along FM 1488.
Drainage Committee:
The Association has facilitated on-going meetings between member subdivisions and with Montgomery County representatives to discuss ways to improve drainage throughout the subdivisions.
Security Issues:
Association Directors have met with Constable Tim Holifield, Constable Matt Masden and Sheriff-elect Tommy Gage to discuss how to improve policing throughout member subdivisions. Members are looking into sharing constable services to increase on-site policing without increasing the financial burdens on smaller subdivisions.
First Time Property Buyers Info:
The Association has printed and distributed a booklet entitled: Guidelines for Prospective Property Owners. Written by Glenn Buckley, the booklet details information for people considering buying property in Montgomery County.
